The third station of our Far East tour was Phuket. Time is 4 hours ahead of Turkey in Thailand. We arrived at Phuket Airport (HKT) at 08:00 from Kuala Lumpur after 1.5 hour flight by AirAsia. Currency is Thai Baht (THB). 1 Thai Baht was equal to approximately 0.06 Turkish Liras. Traffic works from left side here as in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.
1. day – 02.07.2012
Firstly we went to bungalow hotel (Tanamas) and had a rest.
Then we went to Aquamarine by adjusting a taxi from Tanamas. I admired at Phuket and were looking at houses for sale advertisements on the way 🙂 I wonder if we could live in such green places like Phuket in a part of our life. Our villa in Aquamarine was like heaven. Everywhere was green, ocean in front of us, there was also an artificial river’s voice, everything was great.
Then, we would like to have tour and went to Kamala Beach.
Sea seemed stony, around was quiet. Of course, I did not think the water withdrew due to tides. I guess, it was quiet around here because we went during the rainy season. Otherwise, I expected a lively beach and people who will try to sell daily tours, according to my searches on internet before coming to holiday. Anyway, we eventually found a place to eat and ate our pizza with mango and pineapple juices. Here pineapple and seafood so much that I could understand pizza with seafood, but never thought pizza with pineapple 🙂 After eating our lunch we tried to find a tour to go to Phi Phi island on the next day. We eventually found one and have agreed to 2000 Bahts for 2 people. On the way back we saw a fruit seller and decided to taste famous durian fruit. But, we didn’t like it. It was smelling of rotten garlic. It was soft as a rotten garlic. Then we would like to change taste in our mouths, and bought some other fruits such as dragon fruit and ate. Then we returned to the hotel.
There was an artificial river on the back side of our room and sound of water constantly. Each time it sounded like it’s raining 🙂 In the evening sounds well increased, this time I thought I’m wrong, it wasn’t raining, but again I was wrong 🙂 It was raining heavily.
2. day – 03.07.2012
We were picked up from the hotel at 07:15 to go to Phi Phi Islands. The islands we went and saw were great. We sit in the front part of the ship and hanged out our legs when going. At first waves hitting to our legs was funny, but then waves became bigger and we couldn’t sit. Our clothes, bags,.. everything got wet. We had to put our camera to dry bag, and we couldn’t takes photos of Viking caves and other wonders of nature. But, I have seen, I am so happy 🙂
We stopped at Ton Sai Bay for snorkeling. Unfortunately, we couldn’t enter the sea, because I cannot swim. Even fish looked wonderful from the boat.
Then we arrived at Phi Phi Islands and had lunch. I expected only some pastry and fruit juice for lunch, it was richer than I expected. It would be better, if it wasn’t rainy, anyway no matter. When I drank coconut juice for the first time, I disappointed. I wondered its taste. Unfortunately, the fruit and its juice don’t taste like coconut that we used in pastries 🙁 At least I have tried, I don’t drink once more 🙂 It was raining heavily and we had to buy raincoats (300 Bahts for 2). After taking some more photos and sightseeing, we returned back to the boat.
It was raining so heavily, I suppose that one-tenth of its rains in Istanbul, traffic would be paralyzed everywhere. Because of the rain on the way back to the hotel had quite traffic. We finally arrived to the hotel and listened the sound of rain from our room.
3. day – 04.07.2012
I’ve tried guava juice at this time in the breakfast, the taste was pretty great, and actually I hope to try its fruit 🙂 After missing Phuket plane, we decided to go to the airport earlier not to miss plane to Bangkok. We departed from the hotel at 12:00 for 15: 25 flight to Bangkok. We had agreed with lady to drive us to the airport who brought us to the hotel 2 days ago. But, we learnt that she will not come, and we went with another taxi (700 Bahts).
I wish we could stay longer in Phuket, and we could see James Bond Island, we could do safaris with elephants, we could watch shows like Fantesea Show, and we could join a lot of activities. Even if it would be possible I would like to live in Phuket.
